Help For Families
Watching someone you love disappear into their addiction is devastating. The fear, guilt, sorrow, and anger can lead to chronic anxiety, frustrated efforts to help, and deep, soul-level exhaustion. When you’ve tried everything you can think of (and then some) to help your adult child, spouse, parent, or sibling, but there is no change, or it just gets worse, it is easy to lose hope and lose yourself.
Living with active addiction is incredibly painful, confusing, and infuriating. Despite what your addicted loved one might have told you, you didn’t cause their addiction. You can’t control it. And you can’t cure it. But you can contribute to it if you are not taking care of yourself and your needs.
It seems paradoxical that the best way to help someone else is to begin with helping yourself, but that is precisely where we can start. I can help you to navigate through this to find your sanity and reclaim some peace in your life while still loving and caring for your addicted loved one.
If you are ready to get off the crisis roller-coaster, give me a call. I would love to support you as you navigate this rocky terrain.
