About Me

“Compassion is the antitoxin of the soul; where there is compassion, even the most poisonous impulses remain relatively harmless.” – Eric Hoffer

I like to think I am warm and funny and real, and that I bring heart and kind humor into every session. I am open and curious, imperfect and a little quirky (which I think makes anyone just a titch more interesting. Normal is for the birds.) I am no stranger to the heartache that brings you to therapy – I have lived it, too, and am willing to be with you in the trenches. I believe that the foundation of really good therapy is in the relationship we build together, and from there we can do all sorts of creative things to help you reconnect with your center and shake loose from those voices inside that block your path.

I have been married for 22 years and have two adult children. I also have two little rescue dogs whose neuroses match my own. Rosie loves playing ball more than anything, but has a hard time letting go of the ball… I get it, Rosie. I love travel and adventure, knitting and hiking, and am known for my “Grief Garden” where Mother Nature tends the heartache, composts it, and turns it into penstemon for the bees and way too many cucumbers for me. So many that my family has asked me not to grow cucumbers this year! I love making art, especially the kind where you get paint in your hair and under your fingernails, and accidentally on the carpet. I secretly wish I was cool enough to be a roller derby girl, but I am never quite got the hang of roller skating and only like the idea of full contact sports.

It is not lost on me what an honor it is to sit with people through the most important experiences of their lives. I have been in the field for almost 25 years and I absolutely love my clients, and love what I do. I sometimes wonder, “How did I get here?!” I love that I get to witness so much courage and transformation. It is an awe inspiring privilege, and my sense of wonder and gratitude continues to deepen as I mature as a therapist (and as a person)! This work is soul work for me, and I am committed to growing and evolving right alongside you because I am just another human on the path towards what matters in life.
